A US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Washington “hoped that we would be able to adapt to long-term problems” after the resumption of humanitarian aid to the region on Monday, adding, “That makes this event particularly terrible and horrific.”
At least two people were killed and 23 others were injured in the military operation launched by Baku on Tuesday in the Karabakh region, according to what the separatist authorities in the separatist enclave announced.
The human rights official in the separatist region, Gigham Stepanyan, reported on the “X” platform, “The number of civilians wounded has reached 23. The number of recorded civilian casualties is two,” adding: “The Azerbaijani army also targeted civilian facilities.”
