Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the transfer of Russian assets to Ukraine “contradicts everything imaginable from the point of view of the law,” reports UNIAN.

The Russian government has “extremely negatively” assessed the statement of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that the US will transfer the money of Russian oligarchs to Ukraine, reports UNIAN.

This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press representative of the Russian president, stating that it will inevitably “lead to legal proceedings”, which, according to him, “is already taking place”, Kommersant reports.

“One way or another, it will lead to legal action. No case of illegal detention will be ignored. Each case is, of course, individual, and it is necessary to delve into the details. But these will be quite serious legal consequences. It will not be left to chance. You know that there are already legal proceedings in some cases. Some of our entrepreneurs have achieved success in different countries,” said Peskov.

At the same time, Peskov said that the transfer of assets to Ukraine, on whose territory Russia is waging a full-scale war of aggression, “in general goes against everything imaginable from the point of view of the law.”

It has already been announced that at the end of 2022, the USA adopted amendments to the legislation that allows the transfer of confiscated Russian assets to Ukraine.
