Kraken’s Fiat Services Provider Leaks User Data

Etana Custody, collaborating with the popular Kraken bitcoin exchange, has leaked user data, reports The Block.

According to representatives of Etana, the data leak occurred on April 18 – an unauthorized external user gained access to the client interface. However, the company emphasizes that the user’s assets remained intact.

“It is likely that some Etana customer data was available for viewing during unauthorized access to the system, – representatives of the company explain. – Internal security systems worked, including protocols for processing requests for withdrawal of client funds. This neutralized the threat. ”

The types of data that could be accessed include customer names, email addresses, physical addresses, and phone numbers. Nevertheless, the company excludes the leakage of documents such as, for example, driver’s licenses or passports.

Etana gives Kraken customers the opportunity to use five popular fiat currencies – the US dollar, the euro, the Canadian dollar, the British pound and the Japanese yen.

Recall that last fall there was a leak of user data on the popular crypto derivative exchange BitMEX.
