KPK leaders say people affected by OTT are unfortunate, novel Baswedan provides surprising answers

Jakarta

Former KPK investigator Novel Baswedan, commented on Vice President Alexander Marwata’s statement regarding Operation Sting (OTT). Alex previously stated that the person with OTT was just unlucky.

This statement was made by Alexander Marwata at the culmination of the 2022 World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) commemoration, which was held online via Ministry of Finance YouTube (Ministry of Finance). At the time, he said OTT was not an extraordinary issue.

In response to that, Novel Baswedan expressed his objection. He accused Alex’s statement of being similar to the statements of the corrupters.

“Alexander Marwata’s claim, as often expressed by corrupters, is to make it appear that the OTT is not effective. I disagree,” said Novel Baswedan, who had allowed detik com quoting from his personal Twitter account, Wednesday (12/14/2022).

Apart from that, in a joking tone, he thought that Indonesia must be unlucky. This is because the anti-corruption agency is headed by a figure Alexander Marwata.

“Actually I think it is our country that is unfortunate, Alexander Marwata sitting in the KPK chair,” he continued in the tweet.

As previously reported, KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata said those caught in OTT activities were simply unlucky. He felt the OTT incident was not extraordinary.

“How come I still feel that people who are then caught in the act or in corruption cases are unfortunate accidents, not extraordinary ones. It’s just bad luck,” said Alexander Marwata as quoted by the Finance Ministry’s official YouTube account on Tuesday (13 /12 ).

Alex said that many parties have engaged in bribery. However, according to Alex, those who weren’t caught were more thorough in hiding their wealth.

“Actually others behave in the same way, only they are more orderly in hiding. In performing actions and hiding their wealth, it is more orderly,” he concluded.
