KPK Director Accepts Debate Challenge with Firli Bahuri

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign of the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) Giri Suprapdiono accepts the challenge of an open debate about National Insight Test (TWK) with the Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri.

The challenge was previously raised by a Twitter user, Saturday (29/5) night. Giri himself is known to be one of 75 KPK employees who were declared not to have passed the TWK as a condition for changing status to state civil apparatus (ASN).

What if Firli vs Giri had a one-on-one debate and show off their track record on National Insights in an open forum? @MataNajwa can facilitate,“wrote the account @Nephilaxmus.

The tweet was then responded to by the former KPK spokesman, Febri Diansyah. Through his twitter account, Febri asked Giri if he was willing to accept the challenge.

With pleasure. The condition is that if you lose, step back and put down your position. Can’t you do that?,” replied Giri via his twitter account.

Responding to Giri’s answer, Febri said that the debate needs to be implemented in a forum so that the public knows who understands the issue of national insight.

Welcoming the idea of a debate on National Insights between one employee who was declared not to have passed the TWK and the Chair of the KPK, @girisuprapdiono’s response needs to be realized in a forum. So that we understand who understands and how is national insight,” wrote Febri.

Febri himself responded to CNNIndonesia.com’s confirmation by allowing him to quote his tweet. Meanwhile CNNIndonesia.com has also received permission from the @NephiLaxmus account to quote his tweet.

CNNIndonesia.com has also requested a response from the Chairperson of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, regarding the challenge of this debate, but until this news was written, the person concerned has not responded to the message sent.

Previously, 75 KPK employees were declared not to have passed the TWK which was held in the context of changing status to ASN. They were deactivated from the KPK after the test.

After that, the KPK leadership held a meeting with a number of ministries/institutions at the BKN Office. The meeting decided that 51 out of 75 employees could no longer work at the KPK.
