Korean Air flies its Airbus A380 again

This Monday (27), Korean Air It resumed operating commercial flights with the Airbus A380 on the Seoul (ICN) – New York (JFK) route, initially with three weekly flights and as of July it increases to daily flights. The A380s operating this route have a capacity of 407 seats in three classes including 12 First Class, 94 Business Class and 301 Economy. Korean Air superjumbos have a built-in Duty-Free shop and a Lounge Bar, the latter located on the upper deck.

The company will also increase its services to JFK with three extra weekly flights operated on Boeing 777-300ERs increasing its capacity to 7,360 seats per week.

According to statistics from the South Korean government, in 2019 between Seoul Incheon (ICN) and New York (JFK) 782,760 passengers and 77,502 tons of cargo were mobilized in 3,109 air operations: it is the second largest market between South Korea and the United States, only behind Los Angeles (LAX).

  • New York (JFK) 10 flights per week on Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER.
  • Las Vegas (LAS) 3 flights per week on Airbus A330-200.
  • Los Angeles (LAX) two daily flights on Boeing 747-8i and 777-300ER.
  • Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) five flights per week Boeing 777-300ER.
  • Seattle – Tacoma (SEA) four flights per week on Airbus A330-300.
  • San Francisco (SFO) daily flights on Boeing 777-300ER.
