Konami apologizes for technical condition of PES successor eFootball 2022 – Gaming – News

Konami, the publisher of eFootball 2022, apologizes for the technical condition of the just-released sports game. The free-to-play game, whose franchise was previously called Pro Evolution Soccer, is the worst-rated game ever on Steam.

Konami recognizes the issues with cutscenes, facial expressions, player movements and ball behavior. They also say they have received ‘a lot’ of feedback when it comes to how quickly a pass can be given and how defending works. Overall, they say they are “very sorry for the situation” and that they “take all concerns seriously.” An update should follow in October, in which ‘the quality’ of the game should be improved.

Of all user reviews on Steam there are currently 9 percent positive. With that it is according to steam tracker steam250.com the worst rated Steam game to date. The reviews also complain about a lack of teams in offline mode, the absence of training sessions and more.

The Pro Evolution Soccer games are called eFootball since last year. That started with a game that still has to be paid for, but the new 2022 edition is free-to-play with loot boxes. The Japanese game company has already released free versions of its football games. eFootball is being developed by one of Konami’s own studios.
