Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut record, 531 km / h (declared) with the mobile wing

From the Swedish Koenigsegg comes the Jesko Absolut which exploits the idea of Drs in Formula 1. V8 biturbo 5-liter engine, 1,600 Hp and 1,500 Nm of torque. The price well over 3 million euros of the basic version

The record-breaking Koenigsegg Jesko? It is the Absolut version of the Swedish brand’s berlinetta ready for delivery to wealthy customers. Different from the Jesko Attack presented at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the car is not focused on the track, but will guarantee the highest speeds ever. An extreme berlinetta that takes advantage of some F1 concepts, such as the special dual-level active rear wing, mounted high to reduce drag. A bit like the Drs – the Drag Reduction System, or better known as the moving wing – on the single-seaters driven by Leclerc, Hamilton and Verstappen in Formula 1. The Jesko Absolut picks up the baton from the Agera, and, taking advantage of the decrease in aerodynamic load on the straight, it aims for a declared maximum speed of 531 km / h, thus going well beyond the maximum speed record for production road cars: the 457 km / h set in 2017 by the Agera RS.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, engine and drag coefficient If the data on the maximum speed were confirmed, the Jesko Absolut would also place itself alone in the ranking of the fastest cars ever, stealing the place from Hennessey’s Venom F5 which rose up to 500 km / h. The result is given not only by the set-up, but by the 5-liter twin-turbo V8 with the lightest crankshaft in the world (12.5 kg) capable of delivering 1,600 hp and 1,500 Nm of maximum torque. Powerplant linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission with rear wheel drive. The hypercar also benefits from a redesigned injection system, is powered by sustainable E85 fuel (85% ethanol fuel and 15% gasoline) and has an incredible drag coefficient of 0.278 Cx: much lower than 0. , 36 Cx declared for the Bugatti Chiron, and 0.33 Cx for the Agera

downforce

The Jesko Absolut also features improved torsional stiffness thanks to its carbon fiber and aluminum sandwich construction, and a rear wheel steering system that gives better maneuverability at low speeds and agility at higher speeds. A car that generates a maximum downforce of 1,400 kg, of which 800 at 250 km / h and 1,000 kg at 275 km / h. All this thanks to the aforementioned dual-level rear wing, in addition to the front splitter with active underbody air intakes. But the low-drag variant, the one aimed at the speed record, also adds an extended rear end, aerodynamic rear wheel covers, a reduced ride height, the removal of the front wheel arch louvers and the hood vents. .

stellar price

The completely redesigned gearbox, developed in the Swedish company of Christian von Koenigsegg, is completely new. The Absolut version that will arrive on the market (for now a unique piece) will cost much more than the three million euros of the standard Jesko and is finished in Graphite Gray, with accents in the brand in Tang Orange. The Swedish hypercar joins the Attack series which went into production: “The name Absolut – Christian von Koenigsegg told the British magazine Evo – comes from the fact that this is the fastest model Koenigsegg will ever make ”. And again: “It will be very natural to drive. Thanks to the change of him, both at the top and at the bottom, everything happens much faster. There are no delays, the car is very reactive and behaves exactly as everyone would like ”.
