Koeman: pre-infarct cardiologist appointment postponed by corona

“Now I wonder how many people no longer live from whom such an appointment has been postponed,” Koeman continued. “It is a problem that has been discussed a lot in recent weeks.”

“Everything was fixed on the ICs because of corona,” said the national team coach. “Heart problems are more common in the Koeman family. That is why I had made an appointment on March 19. That was canceled. Yes, with the necessary consequences.”

Koeman, 57, had a chest pain about three weeks ago after cycling. He was taken to the AMC in Amsterdam by ambulance, where he was doped.

“I said to my wife, this is really not good. Calling, 112,” said Koeman about the particular afternoon when he came home from the round of cycling. “When the ambulance arrived, it turned out that I had a heart attack. I had to go to the hospital urgently.”

‘Felt super fit’

Koeman says he feels good now. “I am on medication. Three times a week I go to the physiotherapist to restore my condition.” The national coach had never seen the health problems coming. “I felt super fit, lost pounds and cycled a lot. I thought I could handle the world.”
