Koeman chooses Larson as assistant coach in Barcelona

The 48-year-old spent a short but important period with Barcelona and from the bench, he played a pivotal role in the team’s heart, trailing with a goal to 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League final in 2006.

After that he worked in the field of coaching in Sweden since 2010 and his last assignment was with the Helsingborg team.

Schroeder, 47, joined Barcelona’s coaching staff after Hoffenheim, the German club, dismissed his services as coach last June.

Schroeder spent the previous season assistant to Ajax Amsterdam coach Erik Ten Hag.

Koeman, who left his post as coach of the Netherlands national team, signed a two-year contract with Barcelona last Wednesday after his predecessor, Quique Setien, was sacked on Monday after the team suffered the heaviest defeat in its history in European competitions when it lost 8-2 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
