KNVB postpones restart of top amateurs for the time being Football

Many teams are not allowed to train for the time being because this is not allowed after 5 p.m. The KNVB does not think it is responsible to play in the weekend. According to the football association, players cannot prepare sufficiently for a restart from January 14 without training.

sport">In the most favorable scenario, according to the KNVB, football can be played again in the weekend of 5 and 6 February. However, the corona measures must be relaxed from 14 January. In the coming weeks, the national football association will work out scenarios about how the various competitions can be played out, possibly with an adapted set-up for the post-competition. Due to the arrears that have accumulated in the meantime, the match days calendar will have to be adjusted.

sport">The KNVB has taken the decision to postpone the restart of the competitions for the top amateurs in consultation with the CVTD (Cooperative Association Second and Third Divisions) and COH (Central Organ Hoofdklassen). The national football association stopped the relevant competitions at the beginning of this month, after the cabinet introduced an evening lockdown due to rising corona figures.
