AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, a set of symptoms and infections or so-called syndromes caused by damage to the human immune system due to the HIV virus, while HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a virus that can weaken the human immune system.

Sex is the main cause of transmission. HIV is often associated with sexually transmitted diseases, because the spread of this disease usually occurs through casual sex, frequent changes of partners, AIDS is a very dangerous disease, because the mortality rate is 100% in five years , that is. within five years. After the diagnosis of AIDS, all those affected died.

HIV and related viruses are usually transmitted by direct contact between deep layers of skin (mucous membranes) or circulating blood, HIV-containing body fluids, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluids, pre-seed fluids, and breast milk. Transmission can occur through sexual intercourse (vaginal, anal or oral). blood transfusions, contaminated needles. Sexuality is the highest mediator of HIV/AIDS

AIDS stages and symptoms

New AIDS symptoms can be seen in someone who is infected with HIV after the incubation period. During the incubation period, the amount of HIV in the blood continues to increase, while the number of white blood cells decreases. The incubation period consists of several stages, namely:

First stage

This is known as the window period, which is the first amount of time after HIV has entered the bloodstream. Lasts up to 6 months. At this stage the HIV test shows a negative result. This is because the test that detects HIV antibodies cannot find them, so the results are negative.

The second stage

It is called an asymptomatic condition, that is, a condition that shows no symptoms even if it is already infected with HIV. This condition can last 5-10 years depending on the patient’s immune system.

Third stage

Associated with HIV-related diseases. Characterized by the first symptoms of the disease. Symptoms include:

Swollen lymph nodes/lymph nodes
Loss of appetite
Excessive sweating
Spots appear on the skin
Constant diarrhea
The flu doesn’t go away
This phase can last from 6 months to 2 years.
The fourth stage

It’s called the AIDS era. Characterized by a white blood cell (lymphocyte/T-4 cell) count of less than 200/microliter. This condition is characterized by the occurrence of various diseases, especially those caused by opportunistic infections (TB, pneumonia, nervous disorders, herpes).

HIV/AIDS prevention

Causes of HIV/AIDS

The causes of HIV/AIDS are several problems that are serious enough to suffer from. Physically it creates susceptibility for some people to diseases such as tuberculosis, mouth and throat infections
moldy and enlarged lymph nodes, shingles reappears and itching all over the body (Nursalam and Ninuk, 2071).
HIV/AIDS can slow economic growth and destroy total human production capacity (human capital), excluding good nutrition, health services and drugs that can kill the economy and the region.
(Apocalypse, Taufik; Asmidirllyas, 2012).
