The Community of Madrid will carry out from this Wednesday, June 3, the distribution of a second batch of 7 million KN95 masks among its citizens. On the first occasion, 6.5 million masks were dispensed in pharmacies. This time they will be available in pharmacies throughout the month of June and until July 2.
As confirmed by the Government of the Community of Madrid, the masks to be distributed are reusable, and therefore “should not be thrown away after a single use, since their duration, 48 hours in a row, is longer than that of the masks surgical «. This would be a type of mask with a minimum filtration efficiency of 92%. But from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (INSST) the first batch of these masks was analyzed and they concluded that their filtering capacity is 22%. In the case of this second batch of masks, tests carried out in China have shown a filtering capacity of up to 95%, much higher than the previous ones.
