Kingdom Come brings out, Warhorse last year earned 460 million, a year earlier over a billion

Last year (accounting period 1 January 2019 to 31 March 2020), the Czech game development company Warhorse Studios generated revenues of CZK 463 million with a profit after tax of CZK 210.2 million.

Compared to 2018, this is a decrease. At that time, sales reached 1.076 billion crowns with a profit of 521.85 million. This is a common phenomenon in the world of video games, and the results are reflected in cycles in the sale of published titles. Warhorse released their only title, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, in February 2018, so the numbers for this year were logically higher.

The studio announced in June this year that Kingdom Come sold three million copies, DLC extensions 1.5 million. The company managed the first million copies of the game in the first month after its release.

Warhorse currently has around 140 employees and is working on an as yet unannounced title. About forty new employees are to be added this year. Warhorse falls under the publishers Koch Media and THQ Nordic, respectively, who bought the Czech project.

Czech games represent a healthy and growing business. Last year, they earned 4.5 billion crowns, a year – on – year increase of 20 percent. Most of the domestic production is exported.
