Thai King Vajiralongkorn was raided after a religious ceremony with supporters in Bangkok by journalists who asked him about the months of protests in the country.
Reporters from the American CNN and the British Channel 4 stood among the crowd and managed to get the king’s attention. When asked what he has to say to the protesters, Vajiralongkorn first replies “I have no comment”. Then he says “we love them equally” three times.
Asked if there is room for compromise, the king said “Thailand is the land of compromise.” According to CNN it is the first time that the monarch has spoken to foreign media since 1979, when he was still crown prince.
