It consolidates the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, and the published pictures of the Riyadh Airport plan showed the beauty and splendor of the design, which may be the first in the world.
The new airport will contribute to supporting the Kingdom’s plans to place the city of Riyadh among the ten largest cities in the world, and to keep pace with the continuous growth in the population of the capital, Riyadh, which aims to reach between 15 and 20 million people by 2030. It will compete with the region’s airports such as Dubai, Istanbul, and Doha.

King Salman Airport will be one of the largest airports in the world, and will extend over an area of approximately 57 km², which includes the current lounges under the name King Khalid lounges, and 6 flight runways, in addition to 12 km² of support facilities, residential and entertainment assets, shops, and many… Logistics facilities.
The airport will work to increase its capacity to reach 120 million passengers by 2030. It also aims to reach 185 million passengers and pass up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050.
The new airport will compete with the most important airports in the region, which are Istanbul Airport, with a capacity of 150 million passengers, Doha Airport, with a capacity of 58 million passengers, and Dubai Airport, with a capacity of 90 million passengers annually. It will even work to compete with them due to the geographical location that the Kingdom enjoys, a large local market, the presence of the Two Holy Mosques in the Kingdom, and other advantages.
