Communications manager Guri Varpe confirms this to VG on Sunday evening.

King Harald recently contracted corona for the second time. As a result, he had to sit through the parliamentary dinner at the Palace on Thursday.

It was the first time since he became monarch that the king did not catch this event.

On Monday, however, the king is back at work, and he has a lot on the agenda.

Among other things, the king meets the Norwegian Navy in audience, and he later receives the head of the Total Preparedness Commission.

In the evening, the king will be present at the Oslo Military Society, it says the court’s website.

King Harald is on sick leave, but Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Regent Haakon are hosting the representatives of the Storting on Thursday…

The king was taken ill on 22 October, and had cold symptoms as a result of corona. It was then announced that he would be on sick leave until he was symptom-free.

Three days later, the royal house announced that King Harald had been called out sick this week.

The first time the king contracted the virus was in March last year.

Crown Prince Haakon (50) has stepped in for his father in the last week – and has therefore titled himself Crown Prince Regent.

During Thursday’s solemn castle dinner, Haakon therefore read out his father’s speech to the members of the Storting. It should be both serious and joking – see VGTV:
