Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon managed to beat Mads Pieler Kolding / Frederik Sogaard with a score of 21-19, 21-15. Indonesia leads 1-0 over Denmark in Sudirman Cup 2021.
Kevin/Marcus trailed 1-4 early in the game. Kolding/Sogaard’s attack broke through Kevin/Marcus’ defense.
The scoring streak continued for Kolding/Sogaard up to 6-1. Kevin/Marcus only got points after returning the opponent out of the field.
However, the flow of the game still belongs to Kolding/Sogaard who continued to win point by point to lead by six points, 9-3.
Kevin / Marcus had won three consecutive points and reduced the lag to 6-9. But Kolding / Sogaard managed to maintain the advantage at the interval with the score 11-8.
After the interval, Kevin/Marcus were six points behind, 8-14. But the Minions started to give a good response with a four-point streak that took the score to 12-14.
Marcus’ strike that hit the net stopped the streak of consecutive numbers and the score changed to 12-15. However, Kevin/Marcus’ rhythm showed improvement and they could take the next two points. The score changed to 14-15.
