A Kaufland customer noticed a product while shopping in the vegetable department that appalled her. Other customers understand what is on offer.

Munich – Normally, the young woman “likes to go shopping at Kaufland”, but on her last visit to the fruit and vegetable department, she pissed off a product that she has not noticed before. She then wrote a Facebook post directly to the company – and accused the group of double standards. But what shocked the customer so much?

In addition to the unpackaged whole cauliflower and broccoli heads, she discovers vegetables that have already been cleaned and cut into individual portions. “Since when have there been chopped cauliflower and broccoli in a plastic tray wrapped in foil and behind that you can admire the cauliflower in its natural form without packaging?” Asks the customer.

Kaufland: “preach water and drink wine”

In her opinion, the packaged portions do not fit in at all with the discounter’s efforts to create a more environmentally friendly image. For example, like Lidl, Kaufland recently introduced receipts that are more environmentally friendly. In her opinion, the fact that vegetables are offered pre-cut in a plastic tray and wrapped in plenty of foil instead of in their original state is “not possible”, she writes on Kaufland’s Facebook page.

Kaufland excitement: Packaged vegetables are also popular

The company itself initially reacts with a standard response in which it asks the customer for a more detailed exchange. Another Facebook user replied under the post that the finished portion offerings have been on sale for quite some time – and why she often makes use of them herself: “I think that’s great, after a 10 hour shift I don’t feel like cooking Having to chop vegetables as well. ”That the prepared vegetables are also well received, and not only cause horror, is made clear – nevertheless, the supermarket giant may find another packaging that will use less plastic and more environmentally friendly packaging in the future -Alternatives get by. Kaufland currently also wants to strengthen its image with an advertising campaign and the Youtuber Knossi – but that also makes for angry customers.
