Katrīna Dimanta releases a lively video for the song “Meža meitiņa” – Music in Latvia – Music – Culture + – TVNET

The text of “Meža meitiņa” is borrowed from a Latvian folk song, telling about the interaction of man and nature, man’s ability to find peace and joy in himself. The song was completed in the camp of the foundation “Companion”. The video of the song was filmed already in May 2020, letting go of the vision of the director Marija Migliniece, who dressed Katrīna pin-up in the image of a lady. Although nature had turned green at that time, the weather had not yet warmed up, and Katrīna really became a smiling actress swimming in a cold lake in the backyard.

The year 2022 has started actively for Katrīna Dimanta – she has participated in the show “Child of the Star”, performed abroad – in the UAE, Hungary, as well as in Manchester, Great Britain. Katrīna is the author of the music for the play “Justine’s Story”, which will have its premiere on April 30 at the Lielvārde Culture House. In July of this year, Diamond will perform in Canada.

At the beginning of the year, her debut solo album “Colors” was released with eleven songs, including the singles “Pepper”, “You look at me”, “White Snow Road Passage”.

The idea for the album dates back to January 2017, when Katrīna wrote the song “Where We Talk Lovingly” while performing in Australia. The album includes a new version of the listeners’ favorite song “Pepper”, recorded in one go, and the single “You look at me”, “White Snow Road Passage”.

In the recording of the album, Katrīna used her multi-instrumentalist skills and played with the following musicians – Laima Dimanta, Rolands Zelčs, Ginta Garūta, Kristaps Strods, Matīss Uškāns, Jānis Eglītis, Reinis Briģis, Edgars Rakovskis and Marka.
