Kathy Hochul urges New Yorkers to be prepared for lake effect snow early this week – El Diario NY

The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul called on residents to be on the lookout for the first lake effect snow event of the season in the state.

It is expected that some areas near the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario will fall more than a foot of snow Monday through Tuesday night.

For its part, The New York State Department of Transportation has 3,559 supervisors and operators available in the state with 1,613 large snow plow trucks, 156 medium-duty snow plows, 51 snow plows, 332 large loaders, 36 snow plows and 20 graders.
