On July 1, at 10.00, the song “Atnākšana” by a young composer Kārlis Lāčs premiered, performed by an unprecedented quartet of famous Latvian singers – Aija Andrejeva, Aija Vītoliņa, Ieva Kerēvica and Jolanta Strikaite Lapiņa.
“At a time when the wave caused by the virus pandemic prevented active concert activities, and all musicians were forced to work in self-isolation mode, I composed a summer song, for which the poet Jānis Elsbergs wrote words about love. In my home studio I invited four of my favorite Latvian singers. I have worked a lot with both Aija, Ieva and Jolanta, composing music for performances, and each of these singers has her own unique charm. Therefore, while writing this song, I clearly knew about the composition of the performers. There has been no quartet in Latvian music, and for me it is an unusually light hot summer song. The song, of course, is about love, ”says the song’s author Kārlis Lācis.
