“Chance wanted him to stay in the same hotel as us,” recalls Cherif Tadjer, trainer and founder of the Karate Elite Argenteuil (KEA, Val d’Oise). “Bogdan particularly sympathized with my son Zinedine who fights in the same category as him in juniors -68 kg and with other of our competitors. During the competition, the young Ukrainian had been impressive, finishing 3rd in the world-class event, eliminating Frenchman Da Rocha (2-1), German Thran (6-2), Venezuelan Gamez (3- 2), Italian Di Marco (6-1) and Lithuanian Disle (8-4). His country began to be invaded by Russian troops and his city, Kharkiv, located in the northeast, soon found itself on the front line. His father was mobilized, while he and his mother had to flee and join one of his uncles, domiciled in France in the Val-de-Marne. It was with emotion that he left his usual gymnasiums, rue Kosmichna and rue de la Culture-et-voies-du-23-Août.
“Upon his arrival in France, Bogdan asked us to train and compete with us. We accepted him and we offered our support to him and his mother, ”explains Cherif Tadjer.
It is therefore at the Jean-Guymier gymnasium in Argenteuil that he will train to continue his ascent to the top level.
