Kanye West threatened to attack the Jews

Social networks Instagram and Twitter restricted the accounts of American rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, after he posted comments condemned as anti-Semitic, the world’s news agencies reported.

On Sunday, a Twitter spokesperson said the rapper’s account had been suspended for violating the social network’s rules.

A spokesperson for Meta, the parent company of Instagram, said the social network removed unspecified content from Ye’s account for violating its rules.

Instagram has also restricted its account, which could include a ban on posting, commenting, or sending private messages.

Kanye West, who is of African American descent, raised eyebrows on social media after wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt during the recently wrapped Paris Fashion Week.

This is the opposite of the famous “Black Lives Matter” slogan, emblematic of the anti-racism protests in the United States in 2020, and a joke with the movement of the same name.

Ye, 45, posted on Instagram screenshots of conversations with rapper Diddy on Friday, who criticized the shirt and her message, accusing her of being controlled by Jews.

“I’ll use you as an example to show the Jews who told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me,” wrote Kanye West.

The post has been deleted, but copies can still be viewed online.

Yeh said on Twitter Saturday – his first post in two years – that he would attack Jews. In the now deleted post, which violated the rules of the social network, the rapper said: “You guys are playing with me and try to take down anyone who opposes your agenda”.

The American Jewish Committee (AJC) accused Ye of promoting “hatred of Jews”.

“Kanye West must find a way to express his point of view without resorting to anti-Semitism,” reads a statement from the organization and cited by the AFP.

Ye, who suffers from bipolar disorder, is often controversial. He had already been banned from posting on Instagram for 24 hours in March due to his bitter divorce from reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

The rapper is also “on the verge of breaking” with the Adidas brand, which wants to “rethink” its collaboration with the artist.
