Kanye West in West Virginia not on ballot paper

Charleston. New damper on Kanye West’s ambitions for the White House: The rapper did not submit enough signatures for approval in the US state of West Virginia for the presidential election in November. Therefore, West was not on the ballot there, said the office of the official responsible for the procedure. Accordingly, the music star as an independent candidate would have required 7,144 signatures from registered voters in West Virginia. In the end, he even submitted 15,000, but only 13,865 were legible and 6,383 of them could be proven to have come from registered voters in the state.

It was not until Tuesday that authorities in Wisconsin decided not to allow West to vote there because he had only submitted his nomination papers shortly after the deadline. The rapper qualified in Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Utah.

West surprised the world in July with the announcement of his application for the highest office in the state. He announced that he was running as the top candidate for the “Birthday Party”. Since then he has been collecting signatures with the aim of getting on the ballot papers in several countries. The Democrats suspect that the Republicans are deliberately pushing West’s application into several states contested between the major parties in order to steal votes from black voters from the Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
