Kansas City Chiefs Sign Rugby Star Louis Rees-Zammit in Major NFL Move

Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have secured the services of great rugby talent Louis Rees-Zammit. The NFL team from the US state of Missouri announced this on Friday. According to media reports, the 23-year-old Welshman signed a three-year contract until 2027. Rees-Zammit comes from the league’s International Player Pathway Program (IPPP) and will be used as a running back or pass receiver in the future.

The lightning-quick Rees-Zammit, who was about to have a great career in rugby as an outside player, had also introduced himself to the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets. Now he has reached an agreement with the three-time Super Bowl winner and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Rees-Zammit announced in January that he was pursuing a football career. There was a huge outcry in rugby, as he was one of the greatest talents ever. At the last World Cup in France, the 1.91 m tall Rees-Zammit scored three tries and impressed with long ball performances.
