Salomon Kalou caused a stir with a Facebook live video. Now the club Hertha BSC and the player have commented on this action and have taken a position.

Hertha suspends Kalou
Preetz also emphasizes that the club has always advised its players of the current regulations during the Corona period and that Kalou’s misconduct will have consequences that he has not yet discussed in detail.
“I would like to expressly emphasize that we have drawn everyone’s attention to the hygiene and distance rules and ensure that they are strictly observed. We are clearly guided by the requirements of the health authority responsible for us and the recommendations of the RKI. Hertha BSC deeply regrets Salomon Kalou’s behavior. Especially since it is an equally deserved and experienced player. However, the extent of the misconduct requires consistent action. ”
Hertha BSC has therefore decided to suspend him from training and game operations with immediate effect, the club said.
Kalou apologizes – also to his teammates
Kalou himself is also quoted on the homepage as follows: “I am sorry if I gave the impression that I am not taking Corona seriously. I would like to apologize for that. The opposite is the case, because I am particularly worried about the people in Africa, because medical care there is nowhere near as good as in Germany.
