Kaffrine, May 29 (APS) – The President of the Republic, who arrived in Kaffrine on Saturday shortly after 6 p.m., officially inaugurated the Thierno Birahim Ndao regional hospital, in the capital of Ndoucoumane.
Acclaimed by the crowd from the entrance to the city, he went to the regional hospital where he cut the ribbon and unveiled the inaugural plaque.
He then visited the new infrastructure and planted a baobab tree on the hospital grounds.
President Sall arrived shortly after 6 p.m. in Kaffrine, the first stop on his three-day tour of three regions.
At a cost of 19 billion 665 million 571. 390 FCFA, the Thierno Birahim Ndao regional hospital in Kaffrine has 150 beds as well as services required by a modern health infrastructure.
These are internal medicine and surgical services, but above all specialized services (ENT, ophthalmology, oral-dental service, gynecology, obstetrics, cardiology, dermatology, pediatrics).
In addition, there are outpatient services, a central pharmacy, a laboratory, an imaging department, a blood bank, in addition to administration, maintenance, the laundry room and the mortuary.
Kaffrine is the first stop on a three-day tour which will then lead Macky Sall to the regions of Tambacounda (east) and Kédougou (south-east).
