Raymond Huck, president of the Confederation Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), explained that discussing the facts of the Sudanese Al Hilal match against Al-Ahly in the group stage of the African Champions League requires first that the matter be referred by “CAF”.
Haak said in his statements to “Yalla Koura” today, Sunday: “The match referee report will reach the African Union within 48 hours of the end of the match.”
He continued: “If the African Union sees the need to discuss the situation on the part of the discipline committee, it will be sent to us in order to review it and take the appropriate decision for the event.”
Although Raymond Hack has denied access to the match report so far, a source within “K” has revealed that the report has already reached the African Union secretariat and has been referred to the Discipline Committee directly for discussion.
And the discipline committee must take a decision in the match events because of the effect of the order on the drawing of lots that will be held in Cairo next Wednesday.
The same source continued that the Club Competitions Committee in the African Union will not be a party to discuss the events of the match, and the decision will be taken by the Disciplinary Committee directly.
The match between Al-Hilal and Al-Ahly was suspended on Saturday for 11 minutes, due to riots by the Sudanese fans.
The Sudanese Al-Ahly and Al-Ahly match ended in a draw for each team, but if calculated for Al-Ahly, it will be the first of the second group instead of the second.
