Juventus wants to put an end to the premier class curse – Champions League

Juventus and the Champions League are two factors that haven’t gotten to grips with each other in recent years. This year the Bianconeri start the next attack – in the round of 16 they now have to face Porto.

Juventus won the premier class for the last time in 1996 – that was a long time ago. With the purchase of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Bianconeri were again one of the title favorites, but so far CR7 has not been able to change the Champions League curse of Juve. This season, a strong performance in the international tournament would be very important, because in the race for the Scudetto the old lady lags behind her rivals Inter and Milan and is currently in 4th place.

So it’s against Porto on Wednesday evening. Juventus are the clear favorites in the race, but must by no means rely on them, because the last performances in Serie A were not top notch. In addition, Porto has been a long-runner in the Champions League in recent years – the team around Pepe, Real’s former defensive boar, also knows how premier class works.

Dortmund has to become the Europa League winner

In the second Wednesday game, Borussia Dortmund will face the reigning Europa League winner Sevilla. Finding a favorite here is difficult, because Dortmund is more tried and tested in the premier class than the Spaniards, but Seville has already shown several times in the Europa League that they can perform a miracle in knockout games.
