Just out of the theaters! Three national hits of the moment, watchable on TV

“Neon Spring”

From December 5, the Go3 channel will be able to watch the tense youth drama and chronicle of nightlife “Neona pavasaris”, the main character of which Laine is a student living in the suburbs of Riga. At a time when Laine’s parents stop live together and she has to take responsibility for her little brother, Laine enters the underground rave scene of Riga, where she falls in love with the raver Gunda and discovers his sexuality.

“Upura”

The mythological thriller ‘Upurga’, which intrigued the audience with its mysterious plot, also had a strong debut. The feature film directed by Uģis Oltes tells the story of how a pedantic adventure guide loses his sister and her crew in the valley of a wild border river, a film crew who came there to shoot a commercial for vegetarian sausages.

The adventure goes awry when the film crew suddenly disappears. To save them, the main character has to go alone into the mysterious natural world, where he has to fight both with external forces and with his own inner anxiety. He doesn’t know that in this valley a natural phenomenon blooms in autumn, from whose mad power not even the locals are immune. Viewers will be able to feel the frightening and mysterious atmosphere of the film at home from December 12th.

‘Upurgas’ name appears in seven ‘Lielā Kristaps’ nominations: Best Feature Film, Best Cinematographer, Best Supporting Actress (Mara Kimele), Best Film Artist, Best Composer, Best Sound Director, Best Editing Director.

“Mother’s Smiling Again”

From December 15, however, viewers will be able to evaluate female directors on the Go3 platform Elsa Gaujas the comedy “Mamma smiles again”, which tells of three sisters who haven’t spoken to each other for years, but are now forced to clandestinely cross half of Europe in a car with the corpse of their recently deceased mother in the roof rack, hoping to avoid repatriation expenses.
