Jupiter’s largest planet was hit by an asteroid

This is the second time the flash has appeared after a Brazilian observer saw a similar moment.

“The flash feels like it’s been shining for a very long time to me,” said one Twitter user (@ yotsuyubi21) who managed to capture the moment using the Celestron C6 telescope, to Space.

They confirmed the observations with a team led by Ko Arimatsu, an astronomer from Kyoto University, Japan who took part in the project Organized Autotelescopes for Serendipitous Event Survey (OASES).
