Julie Laiskodat, The Figure Behind 2 NTT Clothing Worn by President Jokowi in State Events

KUPANG, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo in two different state events, wearing two traditional clothes from the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The first was while attending the MPR Annual Session of the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2020) morning, the President Jokowi by wearing traditional clothing from the district Sabu Raijua.

Then while leading the Commemoration Ceremony of the Seconds of the Proclamation of Indonesia’s 75th Anniversary at the Presidential Palace, Monday (17/8/2020) this morning, the number one person in Indonesia wore traditional clothing from the Regency. South Central Timor (TTS).

To prepare the traditional clothing from the provinces bordering Timor Leste and Australia, it turns out that there is a figure behind it.

He is Julie Sutrisno Laiskodat, wife of the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat.

When contacted Kompas.com On Monday afternoon, Julie said he was proud that Jokowi wore two traditional costumes from NTT.

As Chairman of the NTT Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda), Julie had the honor of preparing two traditional clothing for President Jokowi.

“It is an honor for us, because Pak Jokowi raised the culture of NTT and introduced two traditional costumes from two districts in the last few days,” said Julie.

Julie, who is also a member of the DPR RI from the Nasdem Faction, said that it was her party who prepared the traditional clothes, while the make-up was done by her Levico boutique in Jakarta.

Julie said, at the MPR Annual Session, she and her team prepared traditional clothing from two districts, namely Rote Ndao and Sabu Raijua.
