It has been about two weeks since the British one actor Julian Sands (65) was reported missing after a mountain trip in the Mount Baldy area in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California.
Was only 45 years old
It was Sands’ wife who first reported him missing. No one has heard from him since the mountain trip, and search operations have been underway.
Now says a close friend, and travel companion, that “obviously something has gone wrong”, writes Independent.
– He is the smartest walker I know. That’s what he did. All his life he climbed mountains. It was a real passion for him, says actor Kevin Ryan.
– Know he’s dead
Furthermore, Ryan says that the weather in the area Sands disappeared in is brutal.
– But it is something that Julian would have seen as a challenge, to go up under those conditions. He likes to push himself, and he has done that. It is clear that something has gone wrong.
But Ryan still has hope that his friend is alive.
– He is more than an experienced hiker. I have a hope that he has hidden away somewhere he can’t get out of.
The friends met during the filming of the American drama series “Crossbones” in 2014, and quickly became friends due to their shared interest in mountains and nature.

Sands is probably best known from the films “A Room With a View” and “Leaving Las Vegas”. He is one of two hikers who have been missing since January 13.
Recently, his car was found in the same area.
The actor’s family has released a statement, thanking those who participated in the rescue effort.
