Judge orders arrest of man who pushed woman against wall in front of GNR in Braga

The Vale do Homem Social Center, with three units in Vila Verde and Amares, distributed a prize of 7,900 euros to the 55 employees, in view of the inconvenience caused in the last two months by the pandemic of covid-19, was announced today. The bonus was paid in April’s salary.

Speaking to O MINHO, the chairman of the board explains that the collaborators covered by the measure are those of the teams that spent 24 hours a day, for 14 days, confined to homes, in order to protect users from possible contagion inserted from outside .

With 93 users permanently residing in the Social Center, Casa da Alegria and Lar das Termas, no case of infection was registered inside the home, with all PCR tests carried out in the homes resulting in a negative result.

“We think this is a fair way to compensate employees for the time they have been confined to our buildings”, adds Jorge Pereira, adding that the prize was not divided equally, favoring those who spent more time confined in the facilities.

“Some received more and others less, depending on the days they were inside the building to support users”, he stressed. Jorge Pereira has no doubt that this confinement has made “until last week, the CSVH continue with all users without a record of infection” of the SARS-CoV-2.

We know the risk of opening homes to visitors

Asked about the new DGS guideline that recommends the opening of visitation to residential structures, Jorge Pereira believes that it is a “risky” measure but that “it was necessary to take”.

“I realize, even by the mental health of the users, but we know the risk that there is, because the virus is invisible and contagious and the majority of those infected do not reveal symptoms”, he counters.

For “normal” visits, the CSVH has prepared a room where access is ensured from the outside, for visitors, and from the inside, for users. “There is no crossing of visits, there is social distance with acrylic panels, hygiene dispensers, temperature measurement and mandatory use of a mask”, he reinforces.

Portugal records today 1,163 deaths related to covid-19, 19 more than on Monday, and 27,913 infected, 234 more, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today by the General Directorate of Health.

In comparison with Monday’s data, which recorded 1,144 deaths, today there was an increase of 1.7% of deaths.

Regarding the number of confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus (27,913), data from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) show that there are 234 more cases than on Monday (27,679), representing an increase of 0.8% .
