In his response to a comment by a follower of his program, in which he criticized Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad clubs, journalist Walid Al-Farraj expressed his opinion firmly and clearly, defending both of them in numbers.
During an evening episode of his program “Action with Walid,” Al-Farraj responded to the tweeter, confirming the achievements of the two teams. He pointed out that Al-Hilal presented the best international participation for a Saudi club, followed by Al-Ittihad’s achievements in 2005, and that Al-Nasr was the least successful, asking with astonishment, “How did they fail us?” Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad?
Al-Faraj said in his answer, “Do you know the history or not? Al-Hilal is the honor of Saudi football, and it represented the best last year when it went to Morocco and played and won against the host, Wydad, which is considered one of the strongest African clubs, and then qualified for the final and played a very strong match against the strongest international club, Real Madrid.”

Walid continued, “And I said, Al-Ittihad, in 2005, Al-Ittihad achieved a historic achievement, and everyone bears witness to that. If we wanted to choose a team that failed, there is nothing but victory, unfortunately, and this is the truth.”
Walid concluded his statements in his last episode, “This is not to diminish the victory, but it is numbers and a fact that history bears witness to.”
