Jota surprised by national coach’s presence at Old Firm derby

The Portuguese Jota decided the Old Firm, derby between Celtic and Rangers, this Sunday, in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, by scoring the only goal of the match.

After the game, the forward found out through journalists that national coach Roberto Martínez was on the bench at Hampden Park following the game and had a curious reaction.

“Are you here? I did not know that. Enjoy the weather, the spectacular weather in Glasgow, because it is very different from Portugal, I can guarantee it», he joked.

Also in the quick interview zone, Callum McGregor, Jota’s colleague at Celtic, advised Martínez to call up the Portuguese player.

′′ He’s a top player. It’s been really good for us this season. He appeared again in a great game with a great goal. I’m sure he saw that quality for himself,” he said.
