Josephine Habashi starred in “A Mafraq Tariq” and honored the Lebanese cinema

After a long thirst that lasted for years, the Lebanese cinema witnessed, in the last ten years, an unprecedented quenching, and a very great renaissance in the field of production and directing, especially with the creative actors who appeared on the silver screen.

Today, a creative cinematographer was born, who saw the light in the Lebanese cinema through the movie “A Crossroads”, through which she paved the way for success and creativity, Josephine Habshi. We can say that she has many scenarios in her artistic repertoire, but this film is the one that even saw the light now.

What distinguished this writer from others is her text, that it is “comic”, meaning “comique”, and there are no shameful expressions in it.

Habshi not only drew the scenario with her implicit message, but also shed light on the Qannoubine region, “God’s Heaven on Earth”, located in northern Lebanon, a region rich in nature and holiness.

The selection of actors, especially Betty Tuttle, Julia Kassar, Josiane Boulos, Cynthia Karam, and Mirna Moukarzel, was very appropriate and professional, and our testimony is also wounded by Rifaat Tarabay and Nicolas Daniel, those whom we cannot evaluate because they are great figures in Lebanese and Arab art.

The producer and hero of the work, Shadi Haddad, played a wonderful role behind the scenes and behind the scenes, in addition to the heroine, Ruba Zaarour, who performed well, especially since there is a difference between their acting experiences.

The film crew witnessed complete harmony, so director Lara Saba, who also played the directing role in the work and sent her directing message perfectly, cannot be overlooked.

This smooth writing, described as an absurd plain, broke all barriers to reach our hearts and minds, in order to draw a smile on our faces. Abyssinian knew how to weave this smile through her words, with a very beautiful text, in a spirit of reality to imagination, and from imagination to reality, as we felt that Abyssinia realized how much she misses. Cinema for this distinctive type of texts.

Of course, we cannot deny that previously there were comic scripts, most notably with the late Marawan Najjar, Mona Taya, Claudia Marcellian, and others. However, Habashi has her own mark, as she made us follow the film from beginning to end without boredom, and the last scene leaves the viewer with the option of analysis if there is a part. A second to work.

Most of the comedies only make people laugh, but Habashi’s text carried many humanitarian and Lebanese messages that talked about the gifts and fruits of the Lebanese land and included a logical love story.

The creative writer Josephine Habashi entered the Lebanese cinema from the wide door, so she created, professionalized, mastered, and presented an unparalleled text. This film participated in the Red Sea Festival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and attracted attention. It is true that it did not receive an award, but it attracted positive opinions from all jury committees and the Arab public.

Congratulations to Habashi, that it is still shown in cinemas to this day, two months after its release, and congratulations to us Lebanese for a writer like Josephine Habashi, who maintains and will maintain the level of Lebanese cinema throughout her career.
