José Mourinho trained the crème de la crème of world football. His top 11 is impressive.

Jose Mourinho is one of the most successful coaches in history. The Special One not only won countless major titles, but also worked with some of the greatest players of the past two decades at his stints at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma.

Tor – PETR CECH

The Czech spent a large part of his career in England, where he made a total of 443 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal. The Champions League winner and four-time English champion has now ended his career.

Abwehr – PAULO FERREIRA

For many years, Mourinho’s Portuguese compatriot was the Blues’ regular right-back. Won the English championship three times with Chelsea and the Champions League against FC Bayern in 2012. He then announced the end of his career.

JOHN TERRY

Was active for Chelsea FC for almost 20 years and matured there into one of the best scorers in the Premier League. After a short interlude at Aston Villa, his active career came to an end in 2018.

The Spaniard will probably go down in history as one of the best central defenders. Ramos won all major titles with Real Madrid and the national team. After his successful time with Los Blancos, he played for PSG for two years and returned to his boyhood club FC Sevilla this summer.

MARCELO

Came to the Royals in 2007 as the successor to club legend Roberto Carlos and, after initial difficulties, was able to convince in the long term. Today the 35-year-old is active at Fluminense in his home country.

Midfield – XABI ALONSO

The defensive midfielder made his breakthrough at Liverpool FC. He then moved to Real, where he stayed until his departure in 2014. He then played for FC Bayern for another three years. He is currently coaching Bayer Leverkusen and suggests that he can become a great coach.

FRANK LAMPARD

The former England international played for the Blues between 2001 and 2014 and was one of the most dangerous midfield strategists ever. With 210 goals in 648 games, he is still the Londoners’ record goalscorer. After retiring, he pursued a career as a coach, but is currently without a club.

WESLEY SNEIJDER

One of the key players in Inter Milan’s Champions League triumph under Mourinho in 2010. Sneijder also won the national championship title in four European leagues.

Drogba scored the second most goals for Chelsea after Lampard. His goal in the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern, when he equalized shortly before the end of the game and then sank the decisive penalty, will never be forgotten. He ended his career in the USA
