Bek Jordi Amat definitely absent from defense Indonesian National team in two legs against Brunei Darussalam in the 2026 World Cup Qualification event, 12 and 17 October.
This certainty was expressed by the assistant coach of the Indonesian National Team, Nova Arianto. According to Nova, Jordi will not join the Indonesian national team which is scheduled to gather in Jakarta on October 9 to focus on recovering from injuries.
“Yeah [absen membela Timnas Indonesia vs Brunei]. “Jordi will focus on recovery and recovery from his injury,” said Nova to CNNIndonesia.com on Thursday (5/10) afternoon.
As a replacement, Jordi will immediately be called a new name. It’s just that Nova can’t reveal it. Later PSSI will announce the new players who will be called up.
Jordi Amat suffered an injury in the 2023/2024 Asian Champions League match on Tuesday (3/10). Jordi felt the injury while defending Johor Darul Ta’zim against Thai club, BG Phatum.
In this match Jordi only appeared for 45 minutes. Acting as captain, Jordi Amat performed solidly and even provided an assist for JDT’s first goal scored by Arif Aiman Hanapi. Unfortunately the 31 year old player felt pain in his right leg at halftime.
Previously, on Tuesday (3/10), PSSI released the names of 25 players who were called up to play against Brunei. The name of Fachruddin Aryanto, who is the captain of the Indonesian National Team, does not appear in the squad.
In Jordi’s absence there is a chance that Fachruddin will be called up again. Other names that could potentially be called are Alfeandra Dewangga, Muhammad Ferrari, Hansamu Yama, or Andy Setyo.
The Indonesia vs Brunei national team match will take place twice. The first leg took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on October 12 and the second leg at Bandar Seri Begawan on October 17.
