The Charitable Organization in Jordan announced, on Friday, the preparation of 3 planes loaded with medical aid to the Gaza Strip.

The authority explained that two of them headed from Amman to Al-Arish Airport in Egypt on Friday, while the third will depart on Saturday.

Secretary General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization, Hussein Al-Shibli, said that sending this aid “comes in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces and security services, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and in coordination with Egypt.”

Al-Shibli added in press statements:

  • The two planes that left the Kingdom and the third that will be sent on Saturday carry 77 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
  • The aid is delivered to the Egyptian Red Crescent at Al-Arish Airport to be brought into Gaza, and distributed to hospitals through the concerned authorities.
  • Coordination is underway to send more aid to relieve pressure on the health sector, supply hospitals with the necessary medical supplies and medicines to deal with health conditions, and alleviate the pain of the injured and wounded.
  • The Authority intensifies sending medical and food aid due to the size of the needs requested by entities operating inside the Gaza Strip.
  • Since the beginning of the events in the Gaza Strip, the total number of aircraft sent from Jordan to Gaza, with these three aircraft, has reached 10 aircraft carrying food, medical supplies and medicines.
  • The Authority works to send aid in coordination with the official authorities inside the Gaza Strip, to secure the main and necessary needs.
