Jordan Pepper appointed official driver of Lamborghini Squadra Corse

Lamborghini Squadra has announced the signing of Jordan Pepper as the brand’s official driver from Sant’Agata Bolognese for the 2023 season and beyond.

The South African knows the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 perfectly, having raced in recent seasons with K-pax Racing in the GT World Challenge America, with the title in 2021 with Andrea Caldarelli.

The 26-year-old will make his official debut at the end of January at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in the #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3, alongside Andrea Caldarelli, Mirko Bortolotti and Romain Grosjean in the GTD Pro category.

Jordan Pepper is also expected to race in the AWS-powered GT World Challenge Europe this season, in a schedule to be announced later.

“I am very happy to join the Lamborghini Squadra Corse family from the 2023 season and beyond, said Jordan Pepper. Moving away from another factory program at the end of 2020 has given me the opportunity to explore and see what I would like to do with my future, and I have had the privilege of being able to drive a Lamborghini for K-PAX Racing in America for the last two seasons.

This experience, the title in the first season, as well as the 24 Hours of Spa alongside Andrea and Marco, gave me an idea of how the factory works. adds the South African. He’s a builder that I’ve grown to love and built a solid relationship with, and when Giorgio told me there was the possibility of joining him, the decision was easy enough to make.

There weren’t many discussions between us and we came to a good agreement. From the very beginning he has shown me great confidence to make this partnership work and what better way to kick off our partnership than at the 24 Hours of Daytona driving the new GT3 EVO2. »

“We are very happy to welcome Jordan to our list of factory riders, concluded Giorgio Sanna, Lamborghini motorsport manager. Since joining us in 2021, he has proven to be a very fast and reliable driver, earning the GTWC America drivers’ title in his first year driving a Lamborghini.

His professional demeanor and determination will also suit the rest of the factory riders this year and I can’t wait to see what he can achieve with us, starting at the 24 Hours of Daytona later this month. »
