Jonava is a leader in digital solutions: as many as three projects have been approved

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has approved most of the priority digital solutions planned to be developed in the public sector, the total value of which is more than 96 million. euros. Even three Jonava district municipality projects, which aim to digitize services for residents, made it to the list.

The Ministry reports that it evaluated a total of 86 projects: 44 applications were submitted by 22 institutions and companies, and 27 municipalities submitted 42 applications.

23 municipal projects have been approved as priority digitization projects, for which over 8 million will be allocated. euros (33 national projects – 88 million euros).

In the selection of projects, the project of installing the electronic services system module of the Jonava district municipality administration, the creation of a centralized education system in the Jonava district and the further development of the Jonavietis card (app) won, the municipality reports.

The solutions implemented during the first project will enable the residents of Jonava to receive municipal administration services electronically, by submitting requests through the Electronic Government Portal, without leaving their homes.

A centralized education system will enable digitization of requests, consents, inquiries, complaints, etc. submission to educational institutions, other educational service providers, their processing, information accumulation, analysis, management and opening.

The third project includes the improvement of the already working Jonava app and the implementation of new services in the mobile app.

These three Jonava projects claim to receive over 750 thousand. EUR financing, which is planned to be distributed in the second half of the year.

“I am glad that Jonava has so successfully caught the very first wave of mass digitization and will be among the first municipalities that have started to reduce “paper” bureaucratic procedures, moving them to a digital space that is convenient for residents,” says Jonava district mayor Mindaugas Sinkevičius.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation estimates that all the country’s municipalities have still not transferred about 300 services to the electronic space, so both businesses and residents still need to submit paper documents.
