Jonathan Vs Axelsen, Tricky Ginting Game

Jakarta

Three Indonesian representatives will compete in the semifinals India Open 2023. Jonathan Christie will try to stop domination Viktor Axelsen.

Apart from Jonathan, there are two other ‘Red and White’ representatives namely Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and men’s doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. The India Open 2023 semifinal match will be held at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, starting at 12.00 WIB or 10.30 WIB.

Ginting became the first Indonesian player to play. The sixth seeded badminton player will face eighth seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn from Thailand.

A tricky match has the potential to be faced by Ginting because the two badminton players are equally strong after bagging two wins in four duels each. Last year, Ginting lost to Vitidsarn in the Thomas Cup group match before taking turns winning in the first round of the Indonesia Masters.

After Ginting, the Jonatan vs Axelsen match will be staged. Jojo was faced with a super tough task because of the superiority of the Dane in the last two years.

Jonathan Christie nor is he equipped with a good record after packing two wins and six defeats to Axelsen in eight meetings. The last time Jonathan beat Axelsen was in the semifinals of the 2019 French Open.

The match is no less complicated than Fajar/Rian’s potential to face. The second seeded men’s doubles will face third seed Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik from Malaysia.

They have met six times with three wins each. Nevertheless, Fajar/Rian had the upper hand because they succeeded in defeating Chia/Soh in the last three meetings, all of which occurred last year.
