Jonathan Majors’ Domestic Assault Case Faces Further Delay in Sentencing

Jonathan Majors, the talented actor known for his role as Kang the Conqueror in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, is facing yet another delay in his domestic assault case. The actor was expected to receive his sentence on Tuesday, but due to motions filed by his legal team, the sentencing has been postponed until April 8. This delay will allow prosecutors to respond to the motion that was filed just a day before the scheduled hearing.

Majors, who currently resides out of state, appeared virtually for the hearing instead of attending in person. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail for the charges brought against him.

The incident leading to Majors’ conviction occurred in March of last year. A Manhattan jury found him guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault but acquitted him on two other counts. The charges stemmed from an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Following the guilty verdict, Majors faced severe consequences in his professional life. He was fired from Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he portrayed the villainous Kang the Conqueror and was expected to appear in future installments, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” set for release in 2026. Additionally, his manager, Entertainment 360, and his publicity firm, the Lede Company, dropped him. However, he still remains represented by talent agency WME.

The relationship between Majors and Jabbari began on the set of Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” where Majors starred alongside Paul Rudd, and Jabbari worked as a movement coordinator. The incident that led to Majors’ arrest occurred on March 25, 2023, when he assaulted Jabbari in the backseat of a private vehicle. During the trial, Jabbari testified that she had seen a text message from another woman on Majors’ phone, leading her to grab it. Majors forcefully retrieved his phone from her, causing injuries to her head and finger.

Majors has consistently denied the assault allegations. Although he did not testify during the trial, his defense team argued that Jabbari was the aggressor that night in the vehicle. Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ defense attorney, stated that he still has faith in the legal process and looks forward to clearing his name.

In January, Majors broke his silence during an interview on “Good Morning America.” He continued to deny any wrongdoing and expressed regret for not ending the relationship with Jabbari sooner.

Reflecting on the incident, Majors said, “I shouldn’t have been in the car. I shouldn’t have been in the relationship. If I’m not in the car, none of this is happening. If I leave the relationship, none of this is happening. If I’m man enough or brave enough to say, ‘I want to see someone else’ or ‘I’m done now,’ I’m not in that car. We’re not here. I’m responsible for those things.”

As Jonathan Majors’ domestic assault case faces further delays, the actor’s future remains uncertain. The outcome of the pending motion and subsequent sentencing will determine the path ahead for this once-promising star.
