Jonathan is more confident in the Denmark Open after winning the Thomas Cup

Jonatan Christie made it to the quarterfinals Denmark Open 2021. Jonathan admitted that he was more confident after winning the Thomas Cup title.

Jonathan escaped after defeating Japanese badminton player Kanta Tsuneyama in the round of 16. Competing at Odense Sports Park, Thursday (21/10/2021), the sixth seed won two straight games 21-11, 21-9.

The 2018 Asian Games gold medalist controlled the game from start to finish. Jonathan did not experience significant obstacles to get rid of his opponent.

After the match, Jonatan Christie reveal the key to his impressive appearance. One of them is to maintain a positive mindset.

“The key to my appearance is to maintain the condition to always be in excellent condition, as well as to maintain the mind and mentality. It must be maintained as best as possible,” said Jonatan in a PBSI release. “And the most important thing is how we always burn self-motivation,” he added.

“The influence of winning the Thomas Cup was quite good for me, not just the champion. But I was also able to play well enough to increase my confidence in the match.”

Jonatan ensured Indonesia’s victory over China 3-0 in the 2020 Thomas Cup final. Jonatan is one of two Indonesian men’s singles still surviving at the Denmark Open 2021 besides Tommy Sugiarto.

In the next round Jonatan Christie faced with a big challenge. Jonathan will challenge the world number one badminton player Kento Momota for a ticket to the semifinals.
