President Joko Widodo immediately greeted by the President Volodymyr Zelensky upon arrival at Maryinsky Palace, Ukrainetoday, Wednesday (29/6).
The Press Bureau of the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat reported that Zelensky greeted Jokowi at the palace entrance at around 15:00 local time.
“After the welcome, the two leaders of the two countries entered the Palace to have a photo session together and continued with a tete-a-tete meeting,” said the statement from the Presidential Secretariat.
During this visit, Jokowi brought a mission of peace in the midst of the war between Ukraine and Russia which is still raging.
After leaving Ukraine, Jokowi will reportedly head to Russia to meet President Vladimir Putin on June 30.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno LP Marsudi, said that Jokowi to Ukraine and Russia brought a peaceful mission following the conflict that raged in the country.
Meanwhile, a number of observers believe that Jokowi’s visit is also aimed at saving the G20 summit, in which Indonesia is the host.
