Jokowi Admits It is Not Easy to Overcome Crisis due to Covid-19

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo admitted that it was not easy to solve it crisis health and economic consequences Covid-19.

This was conveyed by the President Jokowi in the MPR Annual Session at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2020).

“Everything must be done quickly, in a very short time. When the health crisis has an impact on the national economy, we must also move quickly. Something that is not easy,” said Jokowi.

He said the government had done many things in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the early stages, the government worked hard to repatriate citizens living in Wuhan, China. At that time, Wuhan became the first epicenter of corona virus transmission.

Next, the health crisis had an impact on the economy so that the government had to distribute some social assistance to the community.

Apart from that, the government must also help the workers who were laid off.

Nevertheless, Jokowi thanked all high-level state institutions that together with the government have worked to deal with the crisis due to Covid-19.

“We are fortunate and are grateful for the support and speedy work of the leaders and members of state institutions, who took steps extraordinary in dealing with this crisis, “said Jokowi.
