Luck wasn’t on their side.
Last week, the moderators Joko Winterscheidt (42) and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (38) were really unlucky. They lost to their local broadcaster ProSieben and had to hand over the final to their “future selves” in the “Duel around the world” on Saturday evening.
On Tuesday evening, the station went a step further and selected tricky games for the two moderators. Joko was still battered and on a crutch. But he didn’t think it was that bad: “I think I’ll do it this way more often in the future because I’ll be treated very differently. People take care of you! ”
For example Florida TV colleague Jakob Lundt (35), who was allowed to jump in during physically demanding games. And the troops were not spared! A real crocodile that sat in the Florida TV office even had to be used for a task.
It had a cell phone strapped to its back that Klaas had to grab. Joko said goodbye to his colleague as a precaution: “I have to say, it was a good time with you.”
But not only Klaas had a hard time, Joko himself got it badly. During the game “Carbrüll Karaoke” he was repeatedly driven in a turbo circle in the car by racing driver Matthias Malmedie (46) and had to blare out songs like “Titanium” and “Crazy in love”, which Klaas was supposed to guess. An attack on Joko’s stomach!
The moderator then had to choke again and again, so that Klaas hurried to his aid: “Joko has to get out of the car to puke!” He even wanted to keep the cameramen away: “Back off!” A really moving sight: Joko kept leaning on his Crutch and choked.

Malmedie had a guilty conscience: “I’m sorry. But it had to be done! ”The game was lost anyway. In the match “Runterhauen” Klaas managed to knock a pizza out of the hand of footballer Patrick Owomoyela (42) – but in the end this round was also lost for Joko and Klaas.
For the finale “Against the Wall”, the two moderators only had one advantage. Here, nine tasks had to be solved in the time it took one wall to move from one side to the other.
This included unlocking a cabinet lock with a boxing glove and covering a total of 50 meters with a skateboard. The team tried hard – but in the end the three had to admit defeat against Pro Sieben.
When moderator Steven Gätjen (49) announced the punishment that was waiting for Joko and Klaas, he earned stunned looks. He opened: “Pro Sieben is organizing a live call-in-show, tomorrow (Wednesday, the Red.). You can ask them anything from 4pm to 5pm on Pro Sieben! “
A game of sliding as a punishment
But that wasn’t the only thing that shocked the team of moderators – Gätjen had a second announcement in their luggage: “Next week there will be Joko and Klaas against Pro Sieben on ice. This LED surface will disappear and be replaced by an ice surface! “
And Klaas burst out laughing: “I’m actually in a bad mood because I lost, but I think it’s funny about the ice cream.”
One can only hope that everything will go smoothly.
