John de Bever will hold a big sing-along party for 10,000 visitors in Ahoy in Rotterdam on Saturday, September 30. “The Beavers are going to Ahoy”, the folk singer reveals on Wednesday afternoon in the Omroep Brabant radio program Brabants Bont. “We take people to Rotterdam. There we transform the event hall into the coziest living room in the Netherlands,” he told presenter Hubert Mol.
“A lot of people ask if a dream comes true, but I’m not much of a dreamer. I like being on stage with my husband and manager Kees. I sing with a good band and we have some great artists to perform. guest,” it sounds mysterious.
John does not want to reveal the ‘big names’ who will perform during his sing-along party just yet. “It’s a new concept and it will certainly be a spectacle,” he promises. Ticket sales start on Thursday.
Is a seasoned artist like John still tense for such a full Ahoy, asks Hubert? “In the Gelredome, 30,000 people performed at the Snollebollekes. At most, it can go wrong. You should not think beforehand that you will lose your voice, for example. That is asking the gods.”
The third season of the real-life soap ‘De Bevers’ starts on RTL5 on Thursday evening. With the soap, lovers get an insight into the life of John and his husband Kees.
“We have only watched a small part of the new series, we will not see more. That is also more exciting and a lot more fun for us. The content will be better than expected. We don’t have much more to tell each other,” says John laughing .
